GRID Alternatives is fortunate to have a partnership like SunEdison’s whose employees volunteer their time and solar expertise to give back to their local community. On September 23-24, 2014, GRID Central Valley had the opportunity to work hand in hand with crews from SunEdison installing solar for a family in Stockton, California. Last year, GRID Central Valley worked with SunEdison crews in Lamont, California installing solar on the homes of qualified GRID clients in that community. Tom Esqueda, Regional Director, GRID Alternatives Central Valley stated that, “we are very fortunate to have such a fantastic group of volunteers helping us do what we do best………installing solar. SunEdison volunteers are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and very well suited for the task in that they bring to the table a host of skills that help GRID immensely”. In addition to the employee volunteerism, SunEdison partnered with GRID Alternatives earlier this year in a National Women in Solar Initiative aimed at increasing the number of women working in the field of solar. We look forward to continued collaboration and the opportunity to jointly work on future installations with SunEdison volunteers.
