We are excited to announce our newest appointment to the GLA Board, Mary Luévano. Mary comes to the GLA Board with over fifteen years of environmental experience gained from serving as both Vice President and Policy and Legislative Director of Global Green USA where she oversaw many of Global Green’s groundbreaking initiatives related to green building and clean energy.
When asked what she looked forward to most as being a board member, Mary said, “I have known about and admired GRID Alternatives for years since my days walking the halls of Sacramento for Global Green USA where we fought for the subsidies that support solar installations in affordable housing. GRID Alternatives was one of the first organizations to operationalize those solar systems for single-family homeowners starting one roof at a time. Now GRID LA installs hundreds of systems a year across LA, Orange and Ventura Counties and is helping low income families save money, exercise their energy independence and protect the environment.
I’m excited to be working with a dynamic Board led by newly elected President Brad Sparks of KPMG and a dedicated staff led by Executive Director Michael Kadish. In my short time there I can already tell this is a group with purpose whose impact on Los Angeles and the world will be huge.”
We are excited to have Mary join the GLA family and we look forward to her help as we continue to grow GLA and expand opportunities for solar in all of our communities.
