On a bright Saturday morning in June, GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles (GLA) installed solar with SunEdison in Long Beach for Francisco and his family.
SunEdison is national partner of GRID Alternatives and has been a strong local supporter for many years. Since 2014, GRID Alternatives has partnered with SunEdison to lead a National Women in Solar Initiative bringing more women into the solar industry and supporting them in their professional advancement.
This year, GRID’s partnership with SunEdison continues through an expanded initiative, RISE: Realizing an Inclusive Solar Economy. Together, we are leading a national effort to build a more inclusive solar workforce and connect an industry that needs good people with communities that need good jobs.Over a dozen volunteers worked together to install a 1.63 kW system for Francisco and his family. It will produce an estimated $13,800 worth of energy over the system’s lifetime and eliminate an equivalent of more than 40 tons of greenhouse gases from the Earth’s atmosphere. Additionally, the system’s environmental benefits will also equate to planting over 1,000 trees and eliminating eight cars from the road for one year.
Thank you SunEdison for your generous donation that helped make this install possible. We at GLA are very thankful for all of your support over the years and look forward to a continued partnership with you.
