On June 8, 2017, families, neighbors, and friends of the GRID family gathered in the scenic Kingman Island park for the second annual Solar-bration event organized by the outreach team of GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic. The family-style picnic included refreshments, kid activities, a photobooth, and a raffle drawing. The event was special not only because it was a chance for GRID staff to catch up with past GRID clients, but also potential clients were able to learn more about getting solar from GRID.
Research findings have shown that neighbors are the best influencers for getting solar. In other words, GRID wants to make sure no qualified homeowner is left out from the opportunity to get solar due to schedule, trust, or language barriers. Thus, the Solar-bration event was a great opportunity for community-building and spreading awareness about GRID’s work. To thank our past GRID clients for amplifying our outreach efforts, GRID has a $200 referral program where anyone will receive $200 each time they refer a new homeowner who receives a solar install from GRID. We hope to continue these Solar-brations in the future to further grow the GRID family in the Mid-Atlantic!
