Join Bambi Tran, Vice President of Regions from our GRID Alternatives Headquarters office, in congratulating GRID Central Valley’s (CV) new Co-Executive Directors.
Bambi posted the following community blog on April 5, 2022.
Dear GRID land,
I am super excited to announce on behalf of Headquarters and Central Valley Board of Directors that Karina Gonzalez and David Griffin have been selected as co-Executive Directors to share power and jointly lead the GRID Central Valley team as Tom Esqueda retires from the role at the end of this month. Karina and David are long-time GRID leaders deeply passionate and dedicated to GRID’s mission, the CV team, and the CV communities. Their official start day was yesterday, Monday, 4/4, and they will be working with Tom, me, and others to clarify the CV org structure and transition responsibilities over the course of the month.
Karina started her career at GRID over 10 years ago as an Outreach Coordinator. She expanded into development and workforce as opportunities arose, launching the workforce department and training center, and serving as CV’s Workforce Development for the past 5 years. Fun fact about Karina: She loves ocean life and can name over 190 species of sharks.
David started at GRID as a volunteer over 11 years ago. He was hired on as a Solar Installation Supervisor, installing solar, training volunteers and trainees, and managing projects, and was promoted to Operations and Construction Director 3 years ago. Fun fact about David: He is the family cook in the household and makes an awesome Fettuccine Alfredo.
Please welcome me in congratulating Karina and David on their new leadership position at GRID!
