Days are growing warmer and as the temperature rises so does the level of eagerness with local Edison High School students that are preparing for graduation. Through a recent installation experience with GRID Alternatives, Yanessa Gonzalez’s excitement caught the attention of GRID staff members. After volunteering with her class, Yanessa’s curiosity and drive to learn about renewable energy prompted her to volunteer more of her free time. “I love learning new things and want to get more hands-on experience in solar” states Yanessa.
Born and raised in Fresno, Yanessa Gonzalez, is an active member of Edison High’s Green Academy program. Edison’s Green Academy focuses on science, technology, engineering and mathematics, which lead to jobs known as “STEM” careers. Yanessa loves playing soccer; and having recently torn her anterior cruciate ligament—ACL, she now pursues her interest in the arts. During her free time, Yanessa spends time with her family and keeps up with social media. Through her experience with Green Academy, Yanessa’s goal is to work for PG&E and further her education at Fresno State University. We enjoy her focus on solar, the environment, and making our Valley a better place to live.
