Khallada Farakhan

Project Assistant
Khallada is originally from Chicago, IL, and has lived in the D.C. metro area since 2008. While she is new to the solar installing team, Khallada has always had a love for green energy and anything related to the construction industry. In 2009 as a student at Phelps ACE High School, she attended the Solar Decathlon on the National Mall—and her mind was blown after learning about how design and solar technology can positively impact the world. That experience, combined with Khallada’s love for HGTV and deep passion for architecture, led to her studying Architecture and Environmental Design at Morgan State University. She’s interned for HOK, worked as a GZEP Team Lead, and completed two D.C. based programs—including Solar Works DC, which led her to her position as a GRID Mid-Atlantic project assistant. Khallada is extremely grateful for the opportunities afforded her in D.C. and is excited to join the environmental and humanitarian spirit at GRID Mid-Atlantic to truly care for the well-being of the community.
