In celebration of Earth Day and their Global Volunteer Month, five Bank of America volunteers rolled up their sleeves this weekend to install solar for the Duenas family in Reedley, California.
The Bank of America volunteers were Miguel Padilla Placencia, Carlos Gonzales and Ariadna Navarro. Ariadna recruited her father, Ramon Navarro and brother, Cesar Navarro to help at the installation. The one common word heard from the volunteers was “fulfilling.” Ramon said, “It’s just as easy to do something one day, than to sit around” and “I feel more fulfilled when I give, than when I receive.”
GRID Alternatives-Central Valley and Bank of America have a longstanding partnership benefiting Fresno State University, so it was only fitting that six Fresno State Construction Management students, accompanied by Brad Hyatt, Associate Professor, Department of Construction Management of the Lyles College of Engineering, California State University, Fresno were also on site to learn and help with the installation. At the event, Leo Munoz, Senior Vice President and Marketing Manager for Bank of America presented GRID Central Valley with a $10,000 check to support GRID's training programs.
