Volunteers Are Our Essential Resource

Volunteers are an essential resource for most nonprofit organizations. At GRID Alternatives Central Valley, we recognize their contributions to our organization and acknowledge the selfless commitment and efforts of each of our volunteers. We want them to have a fulfilling and enjoyable experience and recognize that we appreciate their efforts.

On October 9th, we celebrated our volunteers by hosting a barbeque at our new Central Valley GRID office. We were lucky to have many special guests join us. One of our Board Members; Marylen Karsted attended, and several of our partners. Ruben Alvarez from Porterville Unified School District, Rick Gonzales and Cesar Montemayor, instructors from Proteus, Inc., Eric Salazar, Yolanda Martinez Nunez, Deja Velasquez, and Jeremiah Hinojosa from WestCare and Roxy Schultz and Celeste Van Anne from California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and most of all our dedicated volunteers.

Our volunteers do so much to help with GRID’s continuing success and each year we look forward to showing our appreciation and want to properly thank them.

While everybody had lunch, and got a chance to catch up, we had several guests share their experiences with GRID. We heard inspirational and touching stories from volunteers and some of our partners. Thanks again to everyone that joined the festivities and for being part of the GRID Central Valley family. It is great to have such a diverse group of people come together and remind us of the community effort necessary to make GRID work.
