Neil Warren
Solar Installation Training Officer
Neil started as a Volunteer with GRID IE and then was hired as a Construction Assistant working in the warehouse. Neil was promoted to Warehouse and Procurement Manager, then into a Solar Installation supervisor role with the construction team. From there, Neil was promoted to Senior SIS, training IE construction staff on solar installations, and then to Field Construction and Safety Manager. It was there that he found his most genuine passion for training and safety.
Neil stepped away and retired in 2021. In 2023, he was invited to return to a new role as Solar Installation Training Officer under the Workforce and Volunteer Department.
Through the years, Neil acquired several certificates, including PV101, NABCAP Entry Level, ETA card, and OSHA Outreach Trainer, and is a First Aid/CPR Red Cross Instructor. Neil's favorite program is the Solar Futures Program, and he earned a “SHINY APPLE” award from the Palm Springs Unified School District through his work with Desert Hot Springs High School’s Renewable Energy Academy of Learning (REAL Academy). Neil shares, “I am super excited to be teaching the next generation of Solar Installers!”
