Johan van Ravenhorst

Johan was born and raised in The Netherlands. He met his American wife on an airplane while traveling to the USA in 2014 and immigrated to the USA soon thereafter. He has a PhD in mechanical engineering and worked in sales to expand the US distribution network for a large Dutch inverter manufacturer. He and his wife founded Dutchman's Stroopwafels, a food bike business that fully runs on lithium batteries to "live" bake the famous and delicious Dutch "Stroopwafels". Johan's largest fascination is energy storage technology, especially batteries, enabling a more sustainable energy future. He also loves the physical labor of installing and repairing technical systems ranging from simple PV arrays to complex off-grid systems.
