This Earth Month, we’re highlighting an Earth Hero on the GRID Mid-Atlantic staff: TaJuan Peach. Peach, as most people call him, is a graduate of the Spring 2020 cohort of Solar Works DC and has been installing solar for GRID Mid-Atlantic for about a year now.

We're highlighting a fantastic and integral member of the GRID Mid-Atlantic staff, Nikki Mammano. Nikki began working with GRID as a SolarCorps fellow for the Outreach team, and was eventually hired on full-time as an Outreach Coordinator. Known for her compassionate approach to working with clients, outside of work Nikki is also an amazing salsa dancer and houseplant enthusiast. In 2019, Nikki was in a life-changing car accident and continues to work through her recovery process.
For Women’s History Month, GRID Mid-Atlantic has been celebrating the efforts and excellence of women in solar. Ramonita Ramey, a GRID client who lives in Northeast D.C., worked in solar a little earlier than the rest of us. To be precise, she got a job making solar cells in a Maryland factory 43 years ago, long before rooftop solar power became popular.
In the wake of the horrific murder of eight people in Atlanta on Tuesday, March 16, GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic wants to express its solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities that are feeling threatened by rising anti-Asian sentiments in our country.

GRID Mid-Atlantic is thrilled that the new Biden Administration is putting this recognition into action with a series of strong Executive Orders issued during its first week in office. We look forward to working with policymakers as they implement and build on them.
On Wednesday, January 6th, thousands of supporters of Donald Trump marched towards the US Capitol in an effort to disrupt the democratic transfer of power to incoming President Joe Biden. When the mob of right-wing extremists arrived at the Capitol building, they proceeded with their orchestrated attack by pressing through security and eventually breaching the Senate chamber.
