GRID Alternatives’ South LA Solar Clinic Powers Up: 140 homes to receive free solar panels and home energy upgrades

 

GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles (GRID GLA), in partnership with Los Angeles City Council District 9, invites South LA residents to an upcoming community event focused on expanding access to clean energy resources. 

Harnessing the sun cost you nothing! Through GRID Alternatives GLA’s SMART South LA Program, a limited number of income-qualified homeowners can receive free solar, electric panel upgrades and cool roof installations. GRID GLA is also offering its industry-recognized, paid solar job training for up to 75 community members.

A free info session held in English and Spanish, hosted by GRID GLA and Councilmember District 9 Curren D. Price, Jr., at the Central Avenue Constituent Service Center to present the community with facts about state funded solar panels and home energy upgrades, free to residents. Participants can meet with GRID GLA staff, ask questions one on one, begin their application process, and schedule their first site visit.

Additional benefits for attendees include: 

  • Free fruit trees from partnering organization TreePeople.
  • Free air purifiers to the first 35 attendees from partnering organization T.R.U.S.T. South LA.

GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles, Inc. (GRID GLA) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization established in 2007 and serving Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties.
