Thousands of low-income families across California are now assured access to money-saving solar technology and clean energy jobs training in the coming years, with the Governor’s signature on The Equitable Access to Solar Energy Bill (AB217).

Today, the California Assembly voted to extend programs that help thousands of low-income families across California gain access to money-saving solar technology and clean energy jobs.

Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, and GRID Alternatives, the largest non-profit solar installer in the U.S., are partnering to provide and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for low-income homeowners while preparing workers for jobs in the solar industry.

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: JKS), a leading global PV solar power product manufacturer, today announced that it has created a strategic partnership with GRID Alternatives, a US nonprofit solar installer, to donate 150kW of its solar modules towards the installation and training of volunteers of solar electric systems exclusively for low-income homeowners.

The installation, completed by SASH program manager GRID Alternatives and a team of job trainees, is the sixth SASH installation on the block.

Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENPH), today announced its 2013 philanthropic partnership with GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit that brings the benefits of solar technology to communities that would not otherwise have access. Twin brothers Tyrone and Jerome Saxton, both former Army Reservists, got a special gift for Veteran’s Day this year: new solar electric systems to power their homes.
