GRID In the News

In California, where 6 million people live in poverty, one non-profit –GRID Alternatives- is targeting the benefits of renewable energy to low-income communities, intersecting clean energy job training with environmental and economic justice.

For every homeowner that gets a solar system from Sullivan Solar Power this holiday season the company, through a partnership with nonprofit GRID Alternatives, will donate a locally-manufactured solar panel to a project at a low-income residence.

A handful of University of Colorado students headed to Denver last week to gain some hands on experience installing solar panels in a Habitat for Humanity community. California-based non-profit GRID Alternatives spent the week installing 12 solar energy systems on homes in the Lakewood community as part of a pilot program testing the company's plans to expand to Colorado.
