Kennard Carter

HQ Workforce Assistant Trainer
In 2019, Kennard started his solar journey in Washington, D.C, through a twelve week government funded program called Solar Works DC. He started out as a solar trainee, learning and completing certified solar courses. He then branched off to gain more experience in the solar industry. He started as an installer, then rapidly worked himself to an electrician apprentice. He then humbly reached out to Grid Alternatives for job opportunities. Since 2021, Kennard has been an employee of Grid as a Workforce Development Trainer, where he serves in communities now all around the country. He passionately inspires to spread positivity, creativity in teaching solar/renewable energy in diverse communities hoping to make the world a greater place.
