Your melanin content not only dictates where you can live, but what air you can breathe. In the East Bay, housing and transit policies combined to ensure that communities of color are more likely to have respiratory illnesses.

Three months ago, GRID installed a solar photovoltaic system for Anna, a resident of Berry Creek Rancheria, through our no-cost solar program Energy for All and a partnership with Northern Circle Indian Housing Authority.

It’s this community spirit that eventually led to her partial re-roof and solar installation with GRID this summer at no cost to her.   

The Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians Tribe received funding from the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund (TSAF) and partnered with GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) to provide solar for three single family homes.

David Correa and his family have lived in Ontario since 1997. David was born in Mexicali, Mexico (on the border of Imperial Valley) in the City of Calexico.

Tammy Reilly was born in Germany and brought to the States at five years old.

Eduardo Zermeno has resided in San Bernardino for 27 years. Eduardo worked as a truck driver for many years and did various contract work including installing alarm systems until an injury forced him to go on long-term disability, which caused a financial burden.
