We’re helping environmentally burdened communities across the country see a brighter, cleaner future for generations to come, like the families in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood.
Want to fight pollution and unemployment and foreclosures in your own backyard with a single project that will help a struggling family immediately while making a positive impact on the environment for decades?!
When Bryson Pagh, a solar student at Fresno City College, showed up at a job fair for Real Goods Solar two years ago, there was one thing that set him apart from the hundreds of other job seekers: he already had close to 70 hours of hands-on installation experience under his belt through GRID Alternatives.
On Saturday, April 21, rooftops in the Parksdale community of Madera, California, will be swarming with people: community members, job trainees, local business employees and homeowners all working together to install clean solar power for families that live there.
Lawrence Jackson worked with GRID Alternatives to install solar panels on his home, not just to lower his bills but also "to help the environment - I want to be be part of the solution, not part of the problem."
The Bay Area team would like to send a big thank you to the Berkeley Energy and Resources Group (ERG), who not only completed a solar installation for the Thompson family in Richmond last weekend but also raised nearly $7,500 to support GRID!
