Dear friends,
Get close up on a GRID Alternatives project, and you might find Dominic Paul-Baha, a SolarCorps Fellow who found solar through a job training partnership between GRID and the District of Columbia, leading a crew of trainees to install solar for Catherine Bennett, a retired senior who can’t afford her energy bills anymore. Pull back, and you will see a changing landscape for solar, where equity is increasingly at the center of policy discussions, where new programs are coming on-line in Washington D.C., Colorado, Illinois, and California that will open solar access to hundreds of thousands of households and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
GRID’s work is both hyper-local and global, a renewable energy transformation one worker, one rooftop, one neighborhood, one city, one state at a time. As you’ll read in these pages, it is the leadership of these households and communities demanding cleaner air, more economic opportunity and local control of their energy choices that is driving solutions to climate change nationally and around the world.
We are incredibly proud to be part of this transition, working alongside all of you to shape a clean energy future that benefits all our communities for generations to come. Thank you for your continued support.
