GRID Inland Empire Announces Transition of Executive Director Bambi Tran

It is with a mixture of excitement, pride, and gratitude that the GRID Alternatives Inland Empire Board of Directors announces the promotion of Executive Director Bambi Tran to an exciting new leadership role at GRID Alternatives as Vice President of Regions. She will be transitioning into her new role on April 1, and we have begun the search for a new Riverside-based Executive Director.

Bambi has led GRID IE since it opened its doors in 2011. Over that time, she has been the driving force in building and expanding GRID IE’s mission impact, organizational capacity, and positive image. Under her leadership, GRID IE has successfully installed almost 7MW of solar benefitting more than 1,600 low-income families, provided hands-on experience to more than 1,000 people, and delivered vital innovative programming while serving as a community leader in the Inland Empire.

We want to thank Bambi for her years of dedicated service, during which she has built a fiscally sound organization that delivers high quality services to the region. Her ability to innovate and grow new models of programming like Solar Futures and Solar Spring Break, increase local fundraising, and build strong community partnerships means that she is leaving GRID IE in a solid place to move into the future.

Bambi expressed thoughts on her departure with these words:

“GRID IE has been a major part of my life for over eight years and I am so proud of what we have been able to do together to create a resilient organization that is respected and makes real, significant impact on the lives of our community members every day. I leave knowing that the organization is strong and vibrant but I will miss my daily interactions with GRID IE’s wonderfully diverse and incredibly talented team. My move to GRID headquarters will allow me to share my experience with all of GRID’s regional affiliates and grow both professionally and personally. I am honored to continue to be a part of GRID’s community as we move towards greater and deeper mission impact and sustainability. The new Executive Director will inherit a thriving organization, and I will watch with much excitement and anticipation as it grows and changes through to its 10th anniversary and beyond.”

Bambi will work closely with the Board during the leadership search and support GRID IE through the transition. The Executive Director job posting can be found here: Open Positions.

Again, we cannot thank Bambi enough for the dedication, passion, and creativity she has given GRID IE. She will be greatly missed by the staff, Board, volunteers, and supporters alike, but we are excited for her new role and for the next chapter of GRID IE’s history as we continue the important work to further clean energy access in our Inland Empire community.

Sincerely,

George Puddephatt, President, GRID Alternatives Inland Empire Board of Directors
