GRID launched the Women in Solar program in Nepal last year with an off-grid solar system in Chitwan National Park. The women participants are ex-kamlaris (bonded servants). Now free to pursue their own work, they're learning technical skills to prepare to join the paid workforce in Nepal.
The Women in Solar trainees have joined GRID for seven hands-on solar installation opportunities since the program launched in December 2018. The viedo below shows their hands-on experience installing solar at the Kaathe Tower.
