From the rooftop of a formerly condemned home in Camden, NJ, one of the nation's most economically disadvantaged communities, you won't see much solar. But that's about to change thanks to a new partnership with NeighborWorks America, a national nonprofit that creates opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives, and strengthen their comnunities. NeighborWorks America supports a network of more than 240 organizations, many of which we've worked with locally.
Through our new national partnership, nine NeighborWorks organizations in New Jersey, New York, Colorado and California will receive a combined $170,000 in grants to make solar possible for 118 low-income families. We're working with the local grantees to provide technical assistance, secure matching funding, install the solar, and provide hands-on solar job training for local residents.
