Every week we get emails, from Detroit, New York, Appalachia, Tucson. “How do I open a GRID Alternatives office?” “When are you coming to my city?” “My family really needs your help.” When we first started thinking about starting a non-profit energy organization, we envisioned working overseas, where the need for cheap and reliable electricity is so apparent.

On June 20th, 2012, the North Valley Regional Office celebrated GRID Alternatives' first year of service in Northern California. Thank you to all our suporters.

On Friday June 10th, GRID Alternatives completed its 1000th solar electric system installation for low-income families throughout the state of California. This milestone took place at the home of Ms. Celia Juarez as part of the Enterprise East Los Angeles Green Grant Program.
