Jeanne Fox

Jeanne M. Fox served as a Commissioner of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) from January 2002 until September 2014 when she retired.  Ms. Fox served as President and a member of the Governor’s cabinet from January 2002 to January 2010. The NJBPU has regulatory jurisdiction over telephone, electric, gas, water, wastewater and cable television companies and works to ensure that consumers have access to safe, reliable services at reasonable rates.  Under President Fox’s leadership, NJBPU has become a leader among states in developing cutting edge clean energy policies, and promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency. As a result, New Jersey has been second only to California in the number of solar installations. In 2014, the Mid-Atlantic Solar Energy Industries Association (MSEIA) awarded Commissioner Fox the Chapin, Fuller, Pearson Medal, which is awarded “to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the development of solar energy in the Mid-Atlantic region”. Previously, Ms. Fox served as a Regional Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and as Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Energy.  Jeanne graduated cum laude from Douglass College, Rutgers University and received a Juris Doctor from the Rutgers University School of Law - Camden.
