West Sacramento Newsledger - River City students climb a roof and aim for the sun

For Fay and Russell Landry, one sunny day leads to another, for on Tuesday, November 18 they received a free photovoltaic solar energy system that not only will nearly eliminate their electrical costs while contributing to a greener planet, but offered the opportunity to River City High School students to be part of their solar system installation.

Two Week GRID Course for Job Trainees a Success!

Over the course of two weeks, Rising Sun Energy Center partnered with GRID Alternatives Bay Area for a GRID-customized intensive solar PV training course to supplement their pre-apprenticeship program that prepares adults for careers in construction, energy efficiency, and the solar industry. Unsurprisingly, the students benefited most from connecting classroom experience to the hands-on work GRID provides!

Desert Sun - Nonprofit brings solar to low-income homes in valley

When Francisco Rosas got laid off from the Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs, he decided to give the solar industry a try. So Rosas enrolled in solar installation classes at College of the Desert four years ago — but he had trouble grasping all of the material. That changed when Rosas started volunteering for GRID Alternatives.

Ceres Courier - Ceres High Students Install Solar Panels in Madera Homes

Twelve Ceres High School Manufacturing Production & Green Technology Academy students helped to make two Madera low-income families more energy dependent by installing 10 solar units on their rooftops last week.
