Business Wire - WGL’s Day of Weatherization Prepares Homes Across Region for Winter Conditions

When more than 225 volunteers finished weatherizing 150 homes across Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and West Virginia, families across the region were ready to enjoy reduced energy expenses and added warmth in advance of the chilly temperatures and icy conditions expected this winter.

WGL Joins GRID for Day of Weatherization

"I see the legal documents for solar all the time, but I wanted to get up close and personal with the installation process," said Karen, a WGL Holdings (WGL) employee and first time GRID volunteer. On November 4th, 2017, Karen was given the opportunity to learn the solar installation process – in person.

Colorado State University - Student groups contribute to community solar program

Students in the CSU Energy Club and Student Sustainability Center recently volunteered to help GRID Alternatives and Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association develop a 2-megawatt solar array at Coyote Ridge in south Fort Collins in September.

Jurupa Valley High School Students Bring Renewable Energy to Local Family

Jurupa Valley High School students built upon their solar installation skills as they participated in a Solar Futures event in Jurupa Valley. The students have been learning about renewable energy in their classrooms and GRID’s installation was an opportunity for students to put what they have learned to the test. Students participated in all aspects of the install including rack assembly, electrical wiring and rooftop assembly of a 5.1 kW solar system.
