Sweating for Environmental Justice - Wells Fargo Steps Up

Seven volunteers from Wells Fargo, came out on sticky and hot, 95 degree day in July to install a solar system for a low-income homeowner in Baltimore’s Berea neighborhood, Mr. Darnell Edmond.

Solarthon Success in Menlo Park!

Dorothy Stallworth has seen a lot in the more than 40 years she has spent living in Menlo Park. But never, she shared, has she experienced anything like GRID Alternatives’ 12th Annual Solarthon, which recently filled her small Belle Haven neighborhood with more than 120 volunteers, job trainees, and partners on Saturday, June 10th.

SEPA - Solar brings savings — and a community center — to low-income apartments in D.C.

I recently spent a day installing solar panels on the roof of a low-income housing development in a southeast neighborhood in Washington, D.C., sweating out the 90-degree heat and thinking about people who may not be able to afford to keep cool.

On the St. Ambrose Aigburth Vail Senior Community’s rooftop in Towson last week, yet another great partnership was at work. It was there that Maryland Democratic Rep. John Sarbanes, Constellation solar volunteers and GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic solar trainees gathered to outfit the building with a sustainable supply of energy.
